C (Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry) Squadron
The Royal Yeomanry 1969-1992
In 1969 C Squadron was upgraded to a full armoured car squadron with the addition of 10 Saladin armoured cars and an assault troop mounted in 7 Saracen armoured personnel carriers, a total of 28 armoured vehicles.
In 1976 the Saladins were replaced by Fox armoured cars with the 30mm Raarden cannon and in 1984 the Saracens were replaced by Spartan armoured personnel carriers.
In the 1980s the Squadron was involved in several major exercises in Germany with British regular forces and other NATO armies including American, German and Dutch.
